Acting responsibly for our environment
As a medical technology company, we take responsibility for people and the environment. For us, sustainability means conserving resources, reducing emissions, and making processes sustainable. With EMAS and the CSRD, we are laying the foundation for measurable environmental goals and transparent reporting - in a sector that accounts for around five percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Our carbon footprint includes emissions from
- our own sites (Scope 1)
- purchased energy (Scope 2)
- our value chain (Scope 3).
In 2023, our group-wide emissions amounted to around 140,000 tons of CO₂ equivalents, predominantly from Scope 3. As our influence there is limited, we rely on cooperation with suppliers and customers to reduce emissions.
Our climate strategy

Our climate targets are based on the 1.5°C target set by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi):
- Net zero for Scope 1 and 2 by 2045, with a 4.2% annual reduction
- 7% annual reduction in emissions intensity in Scope 3
